John W. Bryant is Partner and General Manager of On The Mark Utility Locating Services, Inc. (OTM), where he leads company operations, financial performance, customer relationships, and strategic growth.
Since joining OTM in 2013, John has helped build the company from an early-stage utility locating business into a multi-million-dollar utility and field-services organization serving utilities, municipalities, engineering firms, contractors, commercial organizations, and private customers throughout New York State.
John brings extensive hands-on leadership experience in 811 One-Call utility locating, private utility locating, damage prevention, field services, and utility management. Throughout his tenure with OTM, he has led the pursuit, startup, and operation of numerous 811 One-Call programs involving gas, electric, fiber, water, sewer, street lighting, and other underground infrastructure.
His experience includes the management of geographically dispersed field organizations as well as private utility locating and mapping services utilizing electromagnetic (EM/RF) locating, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), GPS/GIS technologies, and advanced ticket-management systems. John has also remained actively involved with OTM's major customers through contract negotiations, program launches, performance reviews, renewals, pricing, and service issues.
Prior to OTM, John spent much of his career with Eastman Kodak Company in increasingly senior leadership positions across engineering, manufacturing, research and development, operations, and general management. In his final Kodak role, he had full P&L responsibility for a $120+ million global services business supporting more than 550 customer locations and a workforce of more than 2,000 employees worldwide.
John's leadership approach combines operational discipline, customer service, technology, continuous improvement, and financial accountability to build organizations that can grow while consistently delivering safe, accurate, and reliable service.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Science in Applied & Mathematical Statistics from Rochester Institute of Technology. He is also a Motorola Six Sigma Black Belt.
